1. Drooping or Bending Leaves

The leaves of snake plant, known for their strong and upright shape. But, if the leaves begin drooping or bending around the pot, it signs that your houseplant get the problem. Most common from the problem cause with overwatering. 

Like succulent, snake plant's leaves store water, and they can live a couple of weeks without drink. To fix this issue, you can make a schedule to watering, and watering the snake plants when the soil has dried out for several days.


2. Get Brown Spot at the Snake Plant's Leaves

The other common of snake plant problem is brown spot at the leaves. This problem can cause by several things, such as:

-  Cause by physical damage, like adverse weather or transportation, may become crown leaves. There is no much you can do, and you can prune away the leaf to promote new leaf.

- Weather. The extreme temperature like when exposed to frost, the cold freezes the cells of the plant can kill them. And hot temperature that you exposed this plant too much sun, can burning the leaves and resulting brown.

Instead, make schedule for the watering of your snake plant to fix the problem, you can test the moisture of the soil about once a week with a meter or finger. 

That use to check the soil left to dry out almost completely before watering again. Besides overwatering, leaves that turning yellow can sign that your plant get underwater or inconsistent watering.


4. Roots of Snake Plant Get Brown and Mushy

When you're seeing for brown and mushy roots while repotting the snake plant, don't look over the issue. This result can cause two issues. First, snake plant get overwatering and make the water left at soil that cause root rot. 

On the second, is disease. It usually in combination of overwatering which gives rise to a fungal. Fungal disease can live inside the soil and attack the roots, especially in wet and humid weather. 

Get fix roots problem with trim off all affected areas until the health growth is exposed. Rinse off any remaining soil and repot in high quality potting soil amended with sand to improve drainage.


5. The Leaves Soft or Mushy

Healthy snake plant is quite thick and firm. For the soft and mushy leaves is the sign of overwatering that can cause the roots to rot and the leaves fall over. But, if you're watering correctly, and the problem still occur, it means you must check the drainage. 

Well-drainage soil is a must so that can't be left sitting in water and avoid issues in snake plant. Humidity also can cause the leaves soft and mushy. 

This is quite unlikely, as the humidity high enough to cause mushy leaves is more than most of us can handle. 

If your snake plant sitting next to your humidifier or in a consistently moist bathroom, just remove the leaves to fix the issues. Get move the plant to dries area, and it should return to normal.


6. Snake Plant isn't Growing

Snake plant that isn't growth can cause in many issues. For the first, check the size of pot. Plant will not grow if you're never repotting. You need to repot snake plant usually in 3 to 5 years. 

If not doing this way, you will see stuck snake plant and stopped growing. Get repot into a pot one or two sizes up, and it should be growing again. 

The second, it can cause lack of sunlight. Most plants need sunlight to grow bigger and stay in a healthy plant. 

You can place the plant in an area with light, even in shaded area that can help them to grow and resolve the problem. 

And the third, lack nutrients in the soil. Usually, it causes if snake plant potted in soil with fewer nutrients. You can fix it with apply a balanced liquid fertilizer to the soil, but don't overfertilize.


7. The Leaves Being Wrinkled

Normally, healthy snake plant has deep in color with shiny and healthy leaves. You will get something's not right if snake plant has wrinkled and dull leaves. 

It can cause with temperature, which is in warm weather for several days, can make the snake plants become heat stressed and the leaves get wrinkle. 

Besides then, wrinkled leaves can sign of underwatering. Underwatering in long time can cause wrinkling leaves, as there is not enough water in the cells to keep plump. 

Fix the issues to help your snake plant plump back up and return to normal. 

If the snake plant wrinkled leaves while you've recently bought, moved, or repotted, it could the sign of stress. Take a while for the plant to acclimated, but it should eventually return to normal on its own.
